I have only one tip for saving money. I stopped shopping for everything non essentials, meaning food and some cleaning items and some drugstore items, being extremely mindful of what i am buying.

My top tip is to plan. Plan how to spend your money. Plan your meals. Plan "emergency" food for when you don't feel like cooking. Plan your shopping trips to do it the most effective way possible. For example, one trip out shopping with the route planned out to spend the least amount of gas. Going to store next to each other. Plan shopping at the store after other errands you need to do, like doctors appointments. Plan on bringing food and drink with you shopping if needed. You can waste so much money just on not planning.

I love to give homemade gifts like cookies wrapped with a pretty ribbon and a cute gift tag, or homemade body scrub with peppermint oil, in a cute jelly jar. My coworkers love it, as a quick pick me up!

How long is the spending freeze for? I love you advice on telling people “it’s not in our budget right now”. Thank you.

Recently I read that Target is stopping their Cartwheel Loyalty program ! 8/27/17 is last day to earn and 9/27/17 is last day to redeem. Please verify this information. I don't want to misinform or mislead anyone.

I keep lights off if I'm not in the room, I live alone so I don't wash dishes until I have a dish pan full which is every 2 to 3 days, I don't have a dishwasher. I use my microwave more than my stove, I also keep my toaster, coffee maker and cell phone cords unplugged unless I need them.

I know that you're being serious, but the way you said "I saved 20% on our first baby" actually had me in hysterics!!!

You are incredible. I am so glad I found your videos. I successfully paid off any outstanding debts ( aside from my car payment ), and have really been working my best on handling things right away. My fiance and I had a really rough patch financially, and now we are set on saving some money. Your tips are so helpful. I am now in the process of trying to refinance my car. I have one payment left on my one credit card which I would have paid if my cat didn't need a vet visit lol. Now to chip away at my fiances credit card. Thank you for your help!

we broughtour electric bill down to $60. by not using the a.c or hot water heater. thankfully i have a pool and it does take the heat off. we've had a lot of things go bad in the past yr & we are very budget. we had to redo our laundry rm and replace water heater, washer, half the walls and foors plus paint…we DIY'd it for less than $500. i will never by a brand new product. they are designed to break down. research first any product u purchase…

One frugal tip I have is having friends you can share things with. For example, I always have lots of produce. I share with a friend.  She works at Panera, so I get lots of freebies!!!!

I stopped giving a crap years ago! Best advice ever! Unless you pay my bills or hand me cash, my finances are nobody's business. I dropped out of keeping up with The Jones' and it's made me (and my hubby lol) a lot happier. I just found your channel recently, I'm so glad I did. Thanks!

Would you do a frugal living for freelancers? There are a lot of people working in the gig economy who have home offices. Surely there are some cool tips! I'll get the ball rolling. Are you a writer, editor type? Never, never, never throw away paper printed on only one side: keep a box of half printed paper for those inevitable drafts you have to print and read on real paper before finishing. Save a ton of paper, and be green!
