I wonder if u have no neighbors above can you just make a thin wood roof or similar wont worsen the overall soundproof?

Would have been nice to know the reasoning for 3 layers of foam before the rockwool. Also, mentioning the purpose of resilient track added to the wood prior to adding the plywood to help absorb sound between the plywood and the floor frame. The video however was good and informative with a how to visual.

Hi Yuval. I have a shaky floor on the 2nd floor of my photo/video studio that vibrates. I want to eliminate this and was thinking a floating floor could help. Do you think the floor on your studio is bouncy or susceptible to shakiness when moving? I'm not worried about audio, just movement!

    Hello and שלום!
First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. Shay seems like a really cool guy and the story is just tragic. It's nice that you could still finish the project after all.
Secondly, the video is excellent, detailed, informative and fun. I'm looking forward to watch the next videos. I'm really happy that someone is pedantic and thorough both in building the construction AND in creating the how-to video.
Keep up and good luck! And thanks for the videos!

that is not real floating. it is a layer of wood then a layer of rubber then a pallet that has less contact points than a floor, but still has contacts, then you fill the gaps with rockwool, then a layer of wood, not as beautiful as the one you already had. bouncing balls would be considered floating because shock absorving the upper layer being elastic. but yours is rigid. floating would be achieved with magnets, although would need layers of mu-metal ultrapermalloy to stop the magnetic field contaminations…

The actual sample of recording you show is a in the box recording…. i see very little sense in the treatement of your room… diffuson in a room that small is pointless…you should have absorbtion…and not the foam shit… but rockwool pro grade panel, base trap, do ypu have ypur computer also runing in that box??
