They have those portable jump starters that would be handy. You can get them on Amazon for $100 dollars. It's just two cables and you hook them to your battery. You don't even need another car to attach the battery too.

Get a 24-hour gym membership for showers and the bathroom. Or the YMCA. Use antibacterial Wet Wipes for quick clean ups.

A USB powered fan for summer time.

    Sun-blockers for window privacy.

When I was homeless living out of my van I had a dog that would warn me without anyone knowing. If someone tried to enter my vehicle my dog would first give a warning and if you continued then my dog would attack. What I am saying is a good trained dog is not only a good alarm system but a great companion and if needed a great backup if you are being attacked.

A lantern or even a light bulb can heat your small car. A jumper box with cables is mandatory.

2 PT Jobs here been loving car camping lately in Troutdale OR.. I have a gym membership $9.99 a mo the whether is moderate.. I keep my car clean, have a gym bag for clothes
I think the hardest part of car camping right now is that it is killing my back.. and I have to go walk every now and then
You’re right though it is by no means a fun task.. I have speeding tickets (x2) My liscence is close to suspension and I have not the slightest idea how I will pay the speeding tickets

I am not homeless, but I travel a lot for jobs. Sometimes I sleep in my cars at night to save motel money.

We live in our SUV. We go into Walmart to use the bathroom where we usually park. We switch spots and when go to other Walmart in the area to make sure we do not overrated our welcome. For showers, we wipe down with antibacterial wipes from the dollars store and water and a washcloth. We have jobs. I have a mental illness. We don't do drugs. We don't drink or smoke. We are good people. It's just hard.

Unfortunately i'm gonna be Homeless in about 4 weeks,I'm gonna be living in my Chevy pickup, My backseat will be filled with bags and stuff, The truck is partially tinted, Only the front doors and winsdshield are not tinted. In my area we have in 25 mile radius 4 major WALMART supercenters and a Few Truckstops.I also heard you can sleep in Hospital parking lots, also supposedly you can call some church's that will let you sleep in thier parking lots and of course FEED YOU. I been thinking about ways to keep clean. EVen DRY WIPEs cleaning towels to hit the Vital areas quickly , You could do this in a Toilet stall ,no one would really know. One time I forgot to put on deorderant and I stopped by a STORE AND RUBBED LIQUID SOAP under my arms , after washing under first. it worked I didnt stink.

If you're staying in your van, don't paint, "One time, in band camp…." on the side. It will probably attract the wrong kinda people. Also, frag grenades are helpful.

Or one of those jump starter boxes is a good thing to carry. And don't forget to have antifreeze in your radiator. Or do the maintenance on the car. Car maintenance plays a big part and reliability. Keep up on the oil changes. And there's other forms of Maintenance that need to be done as well. Another thing is in the case of a van hang black curtains in the windows it makes the windows look like they have window tint. Putting those silver things in your windows is a dead giveaway and they attract lots of attention. There is an art to keeping a low profile. Some people say the cops mess with us because they don't like us. No it's because you're high-profile idiot and you bring the attention to yourself. And 27 trips walking to your vehicle during the day looks like drug dealing. Need to avoid that as well. It's like this you don't live in your vehicle you sleep in it. In other words park it get away from it and don't come back to it for quite a while. Like I said making 27 trips back and forth to your vehicle makes people suspicious. About the shower issues.
